Program Information

 

The Technological Education Teacher Education Program comprises two inter-connected program components. The Bachelor of Education/Certificate of Education teacher education program component begins the last week of August and runs through to the beginning of May. The Additional Qualification component begins in the spring following completion of the Bachelor of Education/Certificate of Education teacher education program component. Additional qualification courses completed in the spring will be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers, following confirmation of membership with the OCT.

The Technological Education program has two streams:

Bachelor of Education – Technological Education

This stream leads to a Bachelor of Education and certification to teach one of the following broad-based technologies from Grades 9 to 12: communications technology, computer technology, construction technology, green industries, hairstyling and aesthetics, health care, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing technology, technological design, or transportation technology.

Certificate in Education – Technological Education

This stream leads to a Certificate of Education and certification to teach one of the following broad-based technologies from Grades 9 to 12: communications technology, computer technology, construction technology, green industries, hairstyling and aesthetics, health care, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing technology, technological design, or transportation technology. Graduates who obtain a Certificate in Education and who subsequently complete an undergraduate degree can present their transcripts and evidence of convocation from an accredited university to the Brock Registrar. They will be granted a Bachelor of Education and receive a new diploma.
