Associate Dean's Message

Welcome to the Faculty of Education at Brock University. As Interim Associate Dean, I am delighted to be part of a thriving community of learners, educators, researchers, and staff bonded in the pursuit of excellence and improving education at all levels.

The Office of the Associate Dean serves the Faculty of Education in a number of ways. We provide academic oversight for three centres within the Faculty: The Centre for Adult Education and Community Outreach, The Centre for Continuing Teacher Education and the Tecumseh Centre for Aboriginal Research and Education. The office also provides support for admissions, research, computer services, and student services.

We are here to aid and guide students on their educational journey. We champion learning that is relevant, respects differences, advances social justice and expands global and community awareness. As a faculty, we value collaboration and take pride in the working partnerships that form among students, faculty and the community. The Office of the Associate Dean works with the various departments and units in the Faculty, like the Office of Research, to offer both faculty and students notable supports to promote research, scholarship and creative activity.

Energy, imagination and determination are just some of the qualities demonstrated by the talented individuals who make up the Brock FOE community. Faculty members are widely respected for their academic rigour and dedication to teaching, and we boast distinguished alumni who are leaders in education locally, nationally and worldwide. Our students, like our faculty, are drawn from diverse backgrounds with a wide-variety of learning objectives. They are held to a standard of excellence which they not only meet, but consistently exceed.
