Brock University Oenology and Viticulture Institute
A Celebration of the Excellence of Women in Gastronomy Awards

"This event is a 'celebration' of women in Culinary, Viticulture and Hospitality and is designed to honour and recognize the talents of these women." At the award ceremony on November 16, 2002 at the Pillar and Post Inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Cool Climate Oenology & Viticulture Institute at Brock University took home two awards ~ Dr. Linda Bramble was awarded the Industry Recognition Award for her many contributions to the promotion of Ontario's wine and hospitality industry. Through CCOVI, she offers various wine courses and seminars for students and members of the wine community including programs in wine sales, service, marketing and tourism and in 2001 was the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival's "Business Citizen of the Year".

Ms. Stephanie Leinemann, a student in the Degree program at CCOVI, was presented with the Top Winemaking Student Award in recognition of her consistently high academic achievement. Stephanie is the first student to enter the Oenology and Viticulture program at Brock through our Articulation Agreement with Okanagan University College in British Columbia and is currently completing an Experiential Learning work term at Strewn Estate Winery.
