Order-A-Facilitated Workshop
Career Services recognizes the individual and diverse needs of Brock students. That’s why we offer our workshops by request in order to work around your busy schedule.
Here’s how it works:
  • Find a group of 5 to 10 people interested in one or more of the topics listed in the workshop menu below
  • Decide on date and time options that are convenient for your group
  • Send an email to Resource Coordinator with your request
  • Career Services will confirm a date, time and facilitator for your workshop
* Please provide at least 1 week notice per request
* Workshops are subject to staff availability
* Customized workshop requests are welcome

Developing a Targeted Resume
(Time commitment: 1.5 hours)
You have 20 seconds to impress an employer with your resume! This workshop takes you beyond resume structure and format to helping you learn and develop effective accomplishment statements in your resume. A copy of your current resume is required for activity purposes.

Making a Career Decision
(Time commitment: 2 hours)
Find out what jobs/career is right for you by participating in this interactive workshop. By completing a variety of self assessments and research, you will learn how the four steps of the career planning process can help you make an informed career decision. 
Customizing your Cover Letter 
(Time commitment: 1 hour)
Catch an employer’s attention by learning how to write a customized cover letter. Learn about how to read a job advertisement and effective strategies for planning and preparing your cover letter.
Prerequisite: The Basics of Cover Letter Writing online workshop
'Wowing' an Employer in an Interview
(Time commitment: 1.5 hours)
Ace the interview by attending this advanced level workshop. You will learn more about different types of interview questions and effective strategies for answering questions.

Successful Strategies for Finding Work
(Time commitment: 2 hours)
Discover the best resources and strategies to help you access the hidden job market and find the job you want. This workshop is designed for individuals who have a specific employment goals or career path in mind.
Showcasing your Talents in a Career Portfolio
(Time commitment: 1.5 hours)
This workshop helps you to begin organizing your portfolio information into a format that best demonstrates your skills and accomplishments.
Prerequisite: The Basics of Portfolio Development online workshop.
What can I do with a Degree in...?
(Time commitment: 1.5 hours)
Unsure of where your degree will take you?  Learn about the resources, tools and strategies available to help you  discover potential career options.
Maximizing your Placement/Internship Opportunity
(Time commitment: 1 hour)
Participating in a volunteer or placement opportunity can play a big role in helping you build skills and make career choices. Learn how to prepare for your next placement and make the most of your experience.
Building and Using your Network
(Time commitment: 1.5 hour)
In this workshop you will learn about how employers recruit and the various forms of networking.  Learn how to introduce yourself to professional in your field and the many opportunities to connect and engage with employers. 
Preparing for a Career Event
(Time commitment: 1 hour)
Make the most of your time at career events by learning how to effectively plan and prepare to engage with potential employers.

All current Brock students or Alumni are eligible to complete our online workshops, attend a facilitated workshop, or request a workshop.
