Create a Curriculum Vitae
Are you destined for academia?
If you are headed towards a career in academia then a curriculum vitae (CV) may be required as opposed to a resume. A CV is similar to a resume in terms of its intent to help you find work and highlight your accomplishments, but emphasis is on your academic work and research experience.
The CV is typically required when applying to:
- Post-graduate programs or professional schools
- Academic positions (teaching, research or senior administration)
Quick tips for creating your CV:
- tailor your information to the institution you are applying to
- clearly articulate your research areas and interests
- highlight and describe your thesis and dissertation
- site your teaching experience and publications
- have it proofread and review it for spelling/grammatical errors
I need help with my CV!
