Employer Information Sessions and Showcases

In addition to posting jobs or attending career fairs, employers often visit campus to host an Information Session or Employer Showcase for students.


Employer Information Sessions
Throughout the year, employers will book a room on campus to host an information session. Students can register to attend the session and listen to employers or educational recruiters formally present on their company or institution. This is a great opportunity to learn about company/school culture, products or services/academic programs or services, career opportunities and how they recruit/admission process and requirements.
Students have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives in person (in small groups or individually) before or after their presentation. Professional or "business casual" dress is appropriate, unless otherwise indicated on the Events Calendar.
Registration is typically required to attend employer information sessions.
To register
, go to the Career Services Events Calendar in CareerZone, locate and click on the event (you must be logged into the CareerZone), then click the “RSVP for this Event” button.

Employer Showcases
To connect with students in a less formal setting, employers/recruiters may choose to book at table in a high traffic student area to promote their business or institution.  Students can talk one-on-one with employers or recruiters by stopping by the table to learn more about their organization and ask questions.
Registration is not required to attend an Employer Showcase.

To learn about upcoming Employer Info Sessions and Showcases (including time, date, location, suggested attire, etc.), check out the Career Services Events Calendar.  Visit the events calendar weekly for newly added events.
 
Who Should Attend Information Sessions and Showcases?
The majority of Employer Information Sessions are open to all interested students (whether you’re graduating or a student interested in initial career exploration).
The sessions and showcases are a great way for you to:
  • Learn about what it is like to work for a specific employer or in a specific industry or sector
  • Talk with recent grads who are working in your field of interest (many employers on campus are Brock grads)
  • Get answers to your questions, and learn more about how to become a stronger candidate
  • To help you prepare for a scheduled interview with that company.
