International Student Employment (ISE) Program

International Student Employment (ISE) program offers funding to faculty/staff to hire international students to fill their on-campus positions.

The ISE program aims to provide International students with meaningful on-campus work experiences that will help them to develop valuable and varied employability skills and help them to develop a strong resume prior to graduation, while providing departments with an international workforce.
 

Program Information

The International Student Employment program (ISE) is run in conjunction with Experience Works. The same rules and procedures of Experience Works apply to ISE, with the exception of student eligibilty (please see below).

Student Eligibility
In order to use the funding, the student(s) hired must meet the criteria outline below in the year and session during which he/she will be employed.
 
To qualify, students must:
  • be international students, registered at Brock on a Study Permit
  • be registered full-time in undergraduate courses
  • have completed at least 2 academic terms
  • be in satisfactory academic standing (minimum 60% overall average)
  • be returning to study in the Fall to qualify for summer positions
 
ISP (International Student Program), exchange, Study Abroad, ESL and graduate students are NOT eligible
 
 
If the student does not already have a SIN, the process for obtaining one is as follows:
  1. Complete the Services Canada Offer Letter
     
  2. Print the form -- must be printed on the department's Brock letterhead
     
  3. Both the student and the supervisor are required to sign the printed form
     
  4. The student must bring the form, along with any other information as indicated at brocku.ca/international-services/student-services/SIN, to Service Canada to obtain a SIN
