The New Graduate Recruitment Program

The Employer Development/Events and Marketing Co-ordinator assists employers and organizations in recruiting students who are in their graduating year, or recent alumni up to two years after graduation. We provide assistance to employers in the areas of posting new graduate opportunities, arranging information sessions and showcases, and assisting with on/off campus interviews. The New Graduate Recruitment Program is integrated into the Grad LINK service for graduating students and our Career Services Job Posting site, CareerZone.
To participate, you must meet all the following criteria:
  • Recruiting students in their final year of studies, or recruiting Brock alumni who have graduated within the last two years
  • Recruiting for positions* that start in either January 2014 (for October 2013 grads) or May 2014 (for April 2014 grads)
  • Positions are posted between September 1, 2013 until March 15, 2014 and interviews do not begin until September 24, 2013
  • Opportunities must require candidates to have completed their post-secondary education
  • Opportunities are entry level positions and require less then two years of work experience
  • Adhere to the Ethical Recruitment Guideline published by the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employer and the CS Employer Statement of Understanding
* Please note these positions do not entail teaching English overseas
We ask that you review the academic and recruiting calendar and review a typical recruiting schedule before planning your visit. You will then need to arrange for an interview date. You must have an employment opportunity advertised on the Career Services Job Posting site in order to book interview rooms. Once you have requested your New Graduate Recruitment interview date(s) and received confirmation, the process involves these primary steps:
  1. Post your employment opportunity on the Career Services Job Posting site under Graduate Jobs no later than one month prior to the interview date. You will need to include a complete job description including company or organizational description, deadline date, salary and how you want students to apply, and may also include your information session and/or interview dates
  2. Students and alumni registered in Grad LINK will receive notification of your posting as it pertains to their specific degrees
  3. Arrange an Information Session or Employer Showcase to build your brand on campus by contacting the Employer Development Co-ordinator
  4. Once you have completed your recruitment schedule you will be ready to finalize the set-up of your Interview Schedule(s) and then identify your primary candidates and alternates.
    • First, contact our office if you need to adjust your interview length, time schedule or sign-up timeline
    • Second, have students either contact Career Services to sign up for their interview or you may contact students regarding their interview times
  5. After the completion of the interview process and selection has been made, offers of employment are given out
  6. Once candidate(s) have been hired, notify the Employer Development Co-ordinator
Additionally, you may contact our office:
  • If you wish to extend your deadlines; e.g., your resume submission deadline to occur after your information session, a career fair, or other campus event
  • You can view the recruiting calendar and request additional interview dates
  • View our Build Your Brand section to find out how to target your recruiting information to Brock students and alumni
