Mike Pataran, Senior Platoon Supervisor

Welcome to the Campus Security Services website of the Brock University Community. My name is Michael Pataran.

I was born and raised in the Niagara Region.

In 1977 I started my policing career with the Niagara Regional Police Service. My career was diversified working in the Intelligence Unit, Training Unit, Communication Unit, and Uniform Patrol. During my career I was also involved in Special Projects, the Implementation of Mobile Digital Terminals in police cruisers, the Tactical Unit and a Joint Forces Project with the R.C.M.P.

I have instructed at the Ontario Police College and at Surveillance Training Courses for the Central Intelligence Services Ontario (C.I.S.O.).

The last nine (9) years I have been a Detective Sergeant in charge of mobile surveillance. In this position I worked closely with Major Crime on Homicide Investigations and with several Provincial Joint Force Units on Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, Organized Crime, Tradition Organized Crime, and major drug investigations.

I started my new career at Brock University in October 2007. My present position is an Inspector in charge of three (3) platoon members and I hold the rank of Special Constable which enables me to act as a Peace Officer while on duty here at Brock University

I look forward to working closely with the Brock University Community, staff and students on identifying issues that are a concern, reducing crime and working together to get results.

Please feel free to contact me should you want to discuss any issues.
