Monthly Residence Fire Alarm Test

We are required by code to test the fire alarm systems in all residence buildings on a monthly basis.

The test day for this month is Wednesday, April 10th.  Alarms will still be tested between 1 and 2:30 p.m.

In order to identify this as a test, during the test, thre alarm will ring for about a minute - STOP - ring for about a minute - STOP - ring again for about a minute - STOP, so that you know it is a test. You are not required to leave the building during this test.

If the ringing persists with no stops in between, it is a REAL alarm and you must leave the building immediately.

Please note that in Decew and Vallee Residences we will also be testing the Emergency Notification System. Just prior to the first ring of the fire alarm bells AND just following the final ring of the fire alarm bells, you should hear a tone, followed by a message. This is the emergency notification testing.
