New exhibit on ancient technology now open in Brock's Cypriote Museum

When:
March 15, 2013 - 5:00pm - August 30, 2013 - 5:00pm

The Department of Classics is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit on "The Archaeology of Technology" that showcases artifacts from the university's Cypriote Collection. Curated by two MA students in Classics, Jennesa Dyck and Ana Wagner, the exhibit was designed as part of a project for CLAS 5V20: The Archaeology of Technology. It displays a great variety of Cypriote objects and includes examples of glass, sculpture, stone tools, copper and bronze artifacts, and pottery. There is also a wealth of information about not only the artifacts, but also the technological processes that went into both making and using them in antiquity. There's even a quiz that asks you to guess the function of several 'mysterious' objects! The exhibit is located on the third floor of the International Centre building in the Department of Classics and is open for viewing whenever the building itself is open.
