Nikonov’s focus on organometallic chemistry involves the study of chemical compounds containing bonds between carbon and a metal. His research team carries out an extensive program in molecular catalysis, allowing for a more efficient and greener synthesis of organic molecules.
Nikonov’s research promotes the improved design of catalysts — substances that increase the rate of a chemical reaction or process.
