Certified General Accountants of Ontario Research Excellence Fund (CGAO REF)

Objective

The CGAO REF main objectives are to:

  • Encourage research relevant to the accounting profession. To be considered, a proposal must relate to accounting practice, policy, regulation and/or standards-setting. CGA-Ontario is recognized for heightening public awareness of important issues before decision-makers, and advocating for responsible policy, business and accounting practices that contribute to societal values.
  • Promote research programs in the areas of corporate governance, and risk management in both for profit and non for profit organizations.
  • Foster the use of multiple academic perspectives, research methodologies and levels of analysis.
  • Engage in effective communication, learning and collaboration with business leaders, regulators, academics, and students.

Vision
The purpose of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario Research Excellence Fund is to provide support for innovative accounting research that will drive the profession forward and for initiatives that help create an enriched learning environment for our future business leaders.
