CA/Brock IIIA- Activities


 

 

The IIIA supports, facilitates, and assists with funding activities that help in furthering the mission of the IIIA, i.e. in promoting the pursuit of knowledge and the improvement of teaching as they relate to any and all aspects of accounting in the global environment.

 

These activities include:
 
Research and educational grants: The objective of this activity is to fund research and other scholarly activities that help in furthering the mission of the IIIA. Projects are expected to have transferable value to both the classroom and the profession. Particular consideration is given to proposals that enhance the profile of the CA profession. Applications that further the development of students by involving them in conducting the research are also viewed favorably. Normal research grants range from $5,000 to $10,000.
 
Applicants must be members of the Goodman School of Business at Brock University. However, they are permitted and encouraged to partner in their proposal with members of other constituencies in the profession, including other universities, industry, and practitioner partners.
Proposals are to be submitted electronically to Dr. Pascale Lapointe-Antunes (pascale.lapointe@brocku.ca) on or before May 1 and October 1 of each year.
 
 
The CA/Brock Institute for International Issues in Accounting Award: This scholarship is awarded yearly to two students from the Goodman School of Business travelling on an official university exchange, studying co-op accounting. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic merit and complete a brief statement. Upon their return, students will be required to write a report describing their experiences while on exchange.

Case and course revisions and development, beyond what would be considered normal in maintaining currency and relevance
 
Business meetings and social gatherings
