The Residence Department will email you through your Brock account, so check it regularly! Log in with your Badger code (ex. ab11yz) found under My Profile at my.brocku.ca.
Yes, but you need to e-mail res@brocku.ca, and give your full name together with your student number and tell them when you plan to arrive. On Move-In Day, the two Residence Service Desks will be open 24/7 from that date on through to the end of the semester. As long as they know you are arriving a day late, they will hold onto your keys and you can pick them up from the relevant Desk when you get here.
You are required to pay a $600 deposit by the deadline stated in order to secure a room. You can pay this fee via Travelex. It is very important that you reference your Brock student ID number on this payment so that it can be matched up to your account. The remainder of your Residence fees will be posted sometime in August on the Fee Calculator at my.brocku.ca and you can pay the rest when you arrive here at Brock.
5 Brock courses are considered a full course load at Brock. 5 Brock courses = 30 ECTS credits.
All courses that you take at Brock must be approved by your home institution. You may choose 1-2 non-Business courses, but please be aware that there may be timetable conflicts.
Yes. UHIP is mandatory in Canada for all incoming international exchange students – no exceptions. You can find more information on the UHIP site or by emailing uhip@brocku.ca.
The August 18 deadline is for students paying tuition. As an exchange student, you are able to pay anytime via Travelex, even if the fees are not posted to your account. You can estimate your Residence fees, but remember the fees listed are for 8 months, so divide them in half if you are staying for one semester only. Your other fees consist of UHIP and the bus pass. UHIP will be $228 for four months as per the UHIP Premium Table. The bus pass is $168.84 for the 2011-2012 year.
Otherwise, you can wait until you arrive and pay in person at the Finance office. You will have 30 days after you arrive to pay your fees.
Exchange students are permitted to work on-campus, provided they are in full-time studies and they have a valid Study Permit. International students who are studying for a degree in Canada (not exchange students) are permitted to work part-time off-campus if they have obtained an off-campus work permit. It is illegal for exchange students to work off-campus, for which they could be deported.
