IMPORTANT NOTE:
FALL 2012 - If you have completed your thesis proposal (including presentation) AND have submitted the complete first draft of your thesis by mid-August AND will definitely be completing all thesis requirements (including defence and modifications) before February 25, 2013, you are eligible to pay a special tuition fee for the Fall term. This is called the “First Draft Fee” and is $319.85 in total (based on 2012/2013 rates for both domestic and international students). To be approved for this special fee, you must complete the following form, have it approved by your supervisor and submit it to the Graduate Programs Office in TA 461 absolutely no later than Monday, August 20.

Here is some important information re: first draft:
If a student submits a First Draft form for Fall 2012, a grade must be submitted by the end of December. If the thesis/defence is not complete, the supervisor may enter a grade of “IN” for incomplete by December 31. This notation must be replaced by a numerical grade no later than February 25, 2013 (56 days following the end of spring term).
If a student submits a First Draft form for Fall 2012 and unexpected circumstances prevent the student from completing the thesis/defence by February 25, the student will need to re-register in MSCM 5F90 in the Winter term and will be charged the FULL FEE for that term.
WINTER 2013 - If you have completed your thesis proposal (including presentation) AND have submitted the complete first draft of your thesis by mid-December AND will definitely be completing all thesis requirements (including defence and modifications) before June 24, 2013, you are eligible to pay a the First Draft fee for the Winter term and must submit the form noted above to the Graduate Programs Office no later than December 14, 2012.
