Traffic rerouted around Cairns complex

Please be advised that due to the installation of concrete curbs and asphalt near the Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex, pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be interrupted and rerouted from Oct. 15 to 21.

Vehicle traffic along University Road East will be closed between Meter Road and Mackenzie Chown D block. Access to parking Lot A will be maintained. Access to reserved parking will be through Lot A. Completion target is Oct. 21 when University Road will be reopened and vehicle access restored.

Please note that dates are subject to change, so check brocku.ca/construction for regular updates. See attached map for exact location.

June 1 to Sept. 2: Vehicle traffic closed near the Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex site

  • University Road East will be closed between Meter Road and Mackenzie Chown Block D. The fenced-off construction area will be expanded to make way for installation of landscaping, sidewalks, curbs and reconstruction of University Road. Access to parking Lot “A” will be maintained.
  • Completion target is Sept. 2, at which time University Road will be reopened and vehicle access restored.

June 1 to Sept. 2: Intersection of Meter Road and University Road East

  • Recurring temporary closures of this intersection will be needed to allow for work on the Cairns Family Complex.

June 1 to June 30: Jubilee Court – Landscape repairs will be completed near Mackenzie Chown Block B and building A

  • Temporary closures in this area are required as repairs to the landscape are completed.
