Visual Arts professor publishes book about Jasper National Park

Manufacturing National Park Nature: Photography, Ecology and the Wilderness Industry of JasperJasper National Park is the focus of a new book by an assistant professor of Visual Arts.

Keri Cronin has written Manufacturing National Park Nature: Photography, Ecology and the Wilderness Industry of Jasper, a book that looks at the tourist imagery of the environmental landmark. She examines how postcards, advertisements and other images divorce the park from real environmental threats and portray it as a series of breathtaking vistas and adorable-looking animals.

Cronin is also a faculty affiliate in Brock’s Social Justice and Equity Studies graduate program and editor of The Brock Review.
