Tecumseh Centre donates to northern summer reading camps

The Tecumseh Centre for Aboriginal Research and Education has made a substantial monetary contribution again this year to the Lieutenant Governor’s Aboriginal Summer Reading Camps. The camps are being offered for the fifth year in fly-in First Nation communities in Ontario’s far north.

The camps provide fun, active learning in an atmosphere oriented toward self development. They build hope and emphasize the value of reading, said Lorenzo Cherubini, acting director of the Tecumseh Centre.

The camps host more than 2,000 youth from 29 First Nation communities each year.
