Marlene Moser’s memory will live on at Brock in the form of a scholarship established in the Dramatic Arts professor’s name.

The Marlene Moser Memorial Scholarship will help a student studying Dramatic Arts at Brock. The scholarship will be permanent evidence of the impact made by the late associate professor, said David Fancy, Dramatic Arts chair.

“We working here notice her presence and the marks of her time with us every day,” Fancy said. “We want to make sure the students see that as well.”

Moser died on Dec. 21 after a five-year battle with cancer. She was 47. She is survived by husband Philip Toms and her daughter Cecilia, also known as Cece.

Moser joined Brock’s Dramatic Arts department in 2000, and served a term as department chair.

There has already been enthusiastic student and alumni response to the scholarship, Fancy said. Any funds raised will be matched by the provincial government.
