A graduate student in the Faculty of Education is headed to South Africa as part of a summer internship program.

Leigh Pritchard will take part in the program with North-West University. Pritchard currently works as an academic co-ordinator (grammar) in ESL Services and is a PhD student in Brock’s Joint PhD in Educational Studies.

The internship, provided by the Students for Development program, supports three-month internships and placements in developing countries for senior-level university students. It is administered by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada with financial support from the federal government through Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Pritchard’s work will focus on the CIDA theme of securing the future of children and youth.

In July, Brock will welcome Prof. Cornelia Roux, director of Research for the Faculty of Education Sciences at North-West University. While at Brock, Roux will work with Prof. Dolana Mogadime in the Faculty of Education, as well as meet with other Education faculty and researchers in the Department of Child and Youth Studies.

Both visits are being managed and co-ordinated by Brock International.
