Jonathon Therrien (second from right) was the winner of the bike, donated by Greenshield, on Wellness. With him are (from left) Darren Harper, Associate Vice-President of Human Resources, Kathryn Walker, health management consultant, and Lyndsay Summerhill.

When it comes to wellness, Jonathon Therrien will be spinning his wheels.

The help desk consultant in the Applied Health Sciences Dean’s Office won the bike that was up for grabs on Wellness Day recently.

Therrien wasn’t alone in his quest for wellness on June 18, when staff took a break from their usual work routine to participate in the annual event dedicated to personal and professional development.

More than 525 employees registered for 61 workshops focused on social, mental, financial, physical and spiritual well-being. Workshops were run by other Brock staff and community partners.

The day kicked off with a motivational plenary session that featured Bonnie Giampa and Briar Krieger, co-creators of The 8 Week Challenge, a fitness and nutrition program. Brock will participate in a corporate 8 Week Challenge in September.

Follow @brockuwellness on Twitter or on Facebook for more information on that and other upcoming wellness initiatives.

Wellness Day was sponsored by the Ontario Teacher’s Insurance Plan (OTIP), Shepell, BUSU and Greenshield.
