Economics professor Diane Dupont was quoted in the May 22 Winnipeg Free Press article “Walkerton tragedy fallout: strict water rules that put public safety first.” The article discusses the 10-year anniversary of the E.coli outbreak that killed seven people and sickened half the town of 5,000. In the article, Dupont discussed how 19 per cent of Canadians do not drink tap water.
