International students recognized for academic excellence

More than 80 international students were recently recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.

International Services held a reception in Pond Inlet to honour the students, who are on their respective Dean’s honours lists. Four students were also feted for achieving the highest overall average in each year of their studies at Brock.

They are: Alyssa Davis, environmental geoscience, Shanen D’Souza, business administration, Lizaveta Vasileuskaya, business economics, and Xiaoyang Xia, psychology.

Brock President Jack Lightstone and Kim Meade, Associate Vice-President Student Services, presented the quartet with certificates of achievement.

Brock University has a long history of welcoming international students. The first international student at Brock, and first international graduate in 1969, was from Mumbai. Today, international students make up 10 per cent of the University’s student population, studying a wide range of disciplines and programs.
