Brock celebrates National Co-op Education Week

Brock is set to celebrate National Co-op Education Week.

The University will be hosting two events, one leading up to the weeks events and one during the week of celebration from March 16 – 20.

Brock’s Co-op Education Week will target students, alumni, employers, community and on campus stakeholders, with the objective to raise awareness of co-op.

The University’s celebration theme is “Brock Co-op, Surgite!”

The Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE) celebrates National Co-op Week with a goal of encouraging the celebration of Co-operative Education among student, employer and faculty fans, and fostering awareness of Co-op and CAFCE among new audiences.

Brock is hosting two events:

March 12th 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Niagara Co-op Week Kick-Off Celebration & “Co-op student of the Year”Award Event, at Gord’s Place 80 James Street, St. Catharines.

March 19th 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. GTA Co-op Week Celebration Event, Scotia Plaza, 44 King Street West, 44th Floor, Toronto

In the spirit of celebrating the National Co-op Education Week, faculty, alumni and currents students are invited to the Niagara or Toronto celebration events where the University will celebrate its valuable partnership with community partners, alumni and current co-op students.

Please register with Julia Zhu, lzhu@brocku.ca or 905-688-5550 x3356 before March 9, 2015 and indicate which event(s) you plan to attend.

The CAFCE’s is also celebrating National Co-op Week with a social media contest, inviting students and employers to enter daily activities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, for a chance to win $100 gift cards.

To encourage Brock co-op students’ participation, the Co-op Programs Office will offer the winning student an additional prize of a 30-minute informational interview with one of the University’s top employers.
