Honorary degree nominations sought from Brock community

Who do you think deserves an honorary degree from Brock? The Governance Committee of Senate is seeking nominations for potential honorary degree recipients.

To help encourage submissions, the Office of Alumni, Development and Donor Relations will be available to help members of the Brock community complete nomination packages.

Nominations can be submitted throughout the year, however, if you want to see your ideal recipient considered as a nominee for convocation in June 2015, your nomination needs to be submitted by Jan. 20, 2015. You are encouraged to contact Alumni, Development and Donor Relations by early January if you would like assistance in completing the nomination package.

– Who can submit a nomination? Any member of the Brock community or public can submit nominations.

– How do you submit a nomination? Nomination forms and guidelines are available online or by contacting the Office of the University Secretariat at x3334 or x4307. If you would like assistance from Alumni, Development and Donor Relations in completing the form, please contact Michelle Kerr at mkerr3@brocku.ca

– How does the nomination process work? The Senate Governance Committee reviews, in confidence, all nominations received and will forward its recommendations to Senate for consideration. Senate does not report on its deliberations because of confidentiality, but those approved at Senate are added to the University’s List of Proposed Honorary Degree Recipients for all convocations at which an honorary degree is to be awarded, and the President will select recipients from the list.
