The snowy season is upon us… what you need to know

Last week’s early blast of cold and snow is a reminder that it’s time to be ready for winter conditions. No heavy snowfall is forecast for St. Catharines this week.

However, the Brock community should nonetheless get into the habit of checking the University’s website (www.brocku.ca) and social media channels for updates about the University’s operating status.

When winter storms do strike, Brock officials monitor forecasts and road conditions, and determine by 7 a.m. (for the day) or 3 p.m. (afternoons/evenings) whether or not the conditions will impact campus operations, including classes or scheduled events.

The Brock community is encouraged to familiarize themselves with the University’s Inclement Weather Policy and Departmental Procedures document available at: www.brocku.ca/webfm_send/33849

Students, staff, faculty and guests are also reminded to drive safely this winter. Keep an eye on weather conditions and to allow extra time for reaching the University’s campuses in St. Catharines and Hamilton.
