Last year's summer vacation photo contest winner, shot by Mauryah Burattini.

It seems but a distant memory.

But the Brock News wants you to relive your summer holidays during the return of its annual ‘What I Did on my Summer Vacation’ photo contest.

Tell the world with pictures how you whiled away the dog days on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, reeling in the big one, hiking the Bruce Trail, backpacking in Europe or simply lounging on a beach.

Whether you’re a bona fide shutterbug or avid Instagrammer (who doesn’t love a well-used Toaster filter?), hit us with your best shots. Not only do you get to show off your talents, you may also win some Brock swag for your efforts.

First prize is two tickets to see Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal at the Centre for the Arts on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30. Second place scores $50 in “flex dollars” that can be spent on food while on campus or anywhere else the Brock Card is accepted.

Members of the Brock community can submit up to five photos they took between June 1 and Sept. 22, 2013 in any location they visited during that time. They can be scenic panoramas or action shots – whatever caught your eye while on vacation.

Photos will be judged by award-winning Niagara photographer Denis Cahill.

All photos must be submitted by noon on Sept. 23 to campusnews@brocku.ca with the subject line ‘What I did on my summer vacation.’ Please be sure to include your name, area of employment or program of study, and information about the location and circumstances in which the photos were taken.
