Biology prof wins award for distinguished research

The 2013 Brock University Award for Distinguished Research and Creativity has been awarded to Prof. Michael Bidochka, vice-chair of the Department of Biological Sciences.

Bidochka will receive $2,000 to support his research interests, which include genetic analysis of fungal pathogenesis, population genetics of insect pathogenic fungi and genetics of conidiation.

Recipients of the award present a public lecture as a way of sharing their contributions to scholarship with the University and wider community. Bidochka will be presented with the award at fall convocation.

The Brock University Award for Distinguished Research and Creativity was created to recognize faculty whose distinguished research or creative activity demonstrates outstanding research achievements, contributions to the training of future researchers and consistency in scholarly or creative performance.
