Brock’s Centre for the Arts celebrates Black History Month

Brock’s Centre for the Arts is hosting the following performances this month to celebrate Black History Month.

Thursday, Feb. 21: Amazing Grace
Two of Canada’s finest choirs join together in the premiere of this new celebration of North American spirituals. The breathtaking voices of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale and the Elmer Iseler Singers will blend in uplifting gospel renditions of “Deep River,” “Going Home” and, of course, “Amazing Grace.”

Wednesday, Feb. 27: Raul Midón
A not-to-miss, soulful, show-stopping and Stevie Wonder-esque “one man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus.” (The New York Times)

Thursday, Feb. 28: Ladysmith Black Mambazo
The legendary multiple Grammy-winning group who defined the signature South African sound of complex rhythms and harmony.
“It isn’t merely the grace and power of their dancing or the beauty of their singing that rivets the attention, but the sheer joy and love that emanates from their being.” (Paul Simon)
