MA in Leisure Studies — Jocelyn Murtell

Jocelyn Murtell will defend her thesis on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. in WH147. Title: “A Foucauldian Analysis of Power and Representation in an Attempt to Run a Photovoice Project with Youth.” Supervisor: Erin Sharpe; advisory committee: Cathy Van Ingen and Hans Skott-Myhre; external examiner: Brett Lashua, Leeds Metropolitan University; chair: TBA.

Master of Education — Kimberley Henrie

Kimberley Henrie will present her thesis defence on Monday, March 5 at 2:15 p.m. in the Sankey Chamber. The title of the thesis is “Reading Instruction and Instructors’ Perceptions of Learners’ Needs in LINC Level 1-3 Classes.” External examiner: Hedy McGarrell, Department of Applied Linguistics; supervisor: Vera Woloshyn; committee members: Nancy Taber and Hilary Brown; chair of the examining committee: Nicola Simmons.

Master of Education — Scott Cates

Scott Cates will present his thesis defence on Tuesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. in Welch Hall 147. The title of the thesis is “Exploring School Principals’ Perspectives on Emotional Intelligence.” External examiner: Fr.
