Nominations for honorary degrees may be submitted by any member of the University community or the public on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

The Senate Governance Committee reviews, in confidence, all nominations received and forwards its recommendations to Senate for consideration. Due to confidentiality, Senate does not report on its deliberations.
In order to ensure that nominations are considered for the June 2012 Convocation, nomination forms should be submitted to the Office of the University Secretariat, ST1107, by Jan. 25.
Honorary degrees are normally awarded at both Spring and Fall Convocations.
