Mayor Brian McMullan, third from left, met with student Shuaa Mutawally, Ana Haljkevic from Custodial Services and student Jing Luo about Brock's reflector campaign.

A group of international students met with the mayor of St. Catharines this week to encourage reflector use in Niagara, which ties in with a current fundraiser for East African famine relief.

Brock, Niagara College and the African Association of Niagara are raising money for the Humanitarian Coalition. To help, Brock’s International Services and Programs Abroad, ESL Services and Custodial Services have launched “Save a Life at Home: Save a Life Abroad,” selling reflectors for $3 each.

Reflectors are used widely in countries such as Finland, where the reflectors are manufactured, the students from International Services and Programs Abroad said in a letter to Mayor Brian McMullan this week.

“As Christmas is coming, we truly believe these reflectors will be a great gift to show the genuine care of family, children, friends and the community,” they wrote.

The reflectors can be purchased for $3 each at the International Centre (GLNB 210), Sub-cetera and the Campus Store, or by emailing
