Two Brock Business students received high honours recently at the annual DECA U (Developing Excellence Celebrating Achievement) conference in New York City.

Four Brock delegates attended the three-day conference at the Collegiate Leadership Academy. More than 300 delegates from across the U.S. and Canada competed in industry-specific cases. Brock delegates competed in two of the five industry cases.

Erin Gurr, a fourth-year Business Administration student, took home second place in the fashion merchandising and marketing category. Mithulan Perinpanayagam, a second-year accounting student, was awarded first place in the international business and finance category.

The conference, which focuses on professional development, was hosted by Collegiate DECA, the international governing body of DECA Inc.

The conference was Nov. 17 to 20.
