Brock teacher conference to focus on arts in the classroom

Two hundred teacher candidates will gather at Brock’s Hamilton campus this week to learn more about how to integrate the arts across the curriculum inside the classroom.

The second annual “Arts Matter: Integrating the Arts Across the Curriculum” symposium, presented by the Department of Teacher Education, takes place Thursday, Oct. 27 and Friday, Oct. 28.

The event is co-planned by Brock faculty members in arts education: Shelley Griffin, Peter Vietgen, and Kari-Lynn Winters.

This conference is designed to provide additional instruction in the arts through workshops led by Ontario clinicians and expert professionals in drama, music, dance and visual arts. The end goal of the event is to shine a light on the value of the arts across the curriculum in Ontario schools.
