Psychology professor John Mitterer was quoted in the article “Locals remember a very human business visionary” in the St. Catharines Standard on Oct. 6. The article is about the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

Political Science instructor Jason Sykes was quoted in the article “Ontario heading to the polls” in the St. Johns Telegram on Oct. 6. The article also appeared in the Halifax Chronicle-Herald and the Waterloo Region Record, among others.

Larry Savage, associate professor of Political Science and Labour Studies, was quoted in the Hamilton Spectator article “Liberals lose seats, support but still manage third straight election win” on Oct. 6. The article, written by Canadian Press, appeared in several other publications and news sites, including the Guelph Mercury and the Cape Breton Post.

Stuart Reid, new director of Rodman Hall Arts Centre, was quoted in the article “The time is now for executive director Reid” in the Regina Leader-Post on Oct. 8. The article discusses leaving the MacKenzie Art Gallery and coming to Rodman Hall. He was also quoted in “New curator for Rodman Hall” in Niagara This Week on Oct. 3 and in the St. Catharines Standard and Niagara Falls Review article “Incoming Rodman Hall curator followed his heart” on Oct. 6.

Kate Cassidy, director of Youth University, was quoted in the article “Program aims to get more kids into college, university” in the St. Catharines Standard on Oct. 9.

Janet Conway, associate professor of Sociology and Canada Research Chair in Social Justice, was quoted in the Macleans article “War on Wall Street” on Oct. 10. She was also quoted in the Globe and Mail article “Occupy movement plans to take protests to Canadian streets” on Oct. 9.

Brian Roy, director of the Centre for Muscle Metabolism and Biophysics, was quoted in the National Post article “Active lifestyles benefit from the nutrients in a healthy, balanced diet” on Oct. 11.

Liette Vasseur, Biological Sciences professor, was quoted in the northernlife.ca article “Is Sudbury ready for a disaster?” on Oct. 13. Vasseur recently received a provincial conservation award. She was also quoted in the Sudbury Star article “‘No way to reverse the train’ on climate change, prof says” on Oct. 11.

Andrea Doucet, professor of Sociology and Women’s Studies, was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard article “Brock gets world-renowned working family researcher” on Oct. 14.

A book written by Robert Dimand, Economics professor, was cited in the New York Times article “Making the most of our financial winter” on Oct. 15.

Marilyn Rose, professor of English Language and Literature and former Dean of Graduate Studies, was quoted in the article “Driving the differentiation bus” in University World News on Oct. 16.

Charles Burton, associate professor of Political Science, published the article “China’s hit-and-run mortality” in the Globe and Mail on Oct. 20.

An open house where guests saw renderings of the new downtown Marilyn. I Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts was the subject of the Doug Herod column “Brock offers peek at exciting future” in the St. Catharines Standard on Oct. 20.
