Collective agreement with BUFA ratified

University President Jack Lightstone says the ratification of a new collective agreement between Brock University and the Brock University Faculty Association (BUFA) is a tribute to everyone involved.

“Clearly both bargaining committees worked hard to reach this agreement,” said Lightstone. “Their attitude and the results of their efforts should be appreciated by everyone across campus.”

Negotiators had reached a tentative agreement on Sept. 3, following all-night talks, and the deal was ratified Sept. 21 and 22 by BUFA and the University’s Board of Trustees.

BUFA represents 560 faculty and professional librarian members at the University. The three-year collective agreement runs until June 30, 2014.
