The first cohort of students have arrived for the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education program.

The Faculty of Education is welcoming its first cohort of students for its new Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) program this month.

Fiona Blaikie, Dean of Education, and Renee Kuchapski, chair of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, formally welcomed the students at a reception on Sept. 6. There are 32 students in the new program.

The program builds on the foundation of a two-year Early Childhood Education diploma. Graduates of the BECE program will have a comprehensive understanding of the issues and trends in early care and education for children from birth to eight-years-old. They will also be well prepared for further studies or work in the field of care and education for young children.
