Wheelchair basketball championship heats up at Brock

The inaugural Women’s U25 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships is in full swing at Brock.

The Playoff Round is currently underway with eight games taking place Tuesday and Wednesday. The Championship Round games will take place on Thursday. All games are being played in the Bob Davis Gymnasium.

Team Canada seized the top spot in Pool B with a 60-47 victory over Germany on Sunday, advancing to a quarter-final clash with Mexico. The two teams will play Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Countries participating in the tournament include Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, South Africa and the United States.

Wheelchair Basketball Canada and Brock are co-hosting the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation event.

All of the games will be webcast live on the tournament website, which is also the primary source for the latest news, event information, ticketing, team rosters, schedules and game results. It includes videos, photo galleries, contests, polls and athlete blogs.
