For a second year, Intensive English Language Program (IELP) students from Brock took part in Parliament Oak Public School’s annual Multicultural Festival.

More than 50 students from the IELP program visited the Niagara-on-the-Lake school this past Wednesday to co-ordinate interactive workshops for students at the school. Seminars included cultural activities such as arts and crafts, food, music and dance, and various traditions from cultures around the world.

Countries and ethnicities represented included China, Columbia, Korea and Saudi Arabia. During the day’s lunch break, Saudi Arabian students from Brock sang traditional anthems.

The IELP at Brock is a 14-week program in which students improve their grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Many of these students have conditional acceptances and will continue their undergraduate or graduate studies at Brock. The University’s involvement and participation in this event was co-ordinated by ESL Services.
