Bus trip planned as Badgers invade Ryerson Wednesday

The best fans in the country will be in the stands when the Brock Badgers take on the Ryerson Rams Wednesday night.

Numerous school buses filled with Badgers fans will make the trip to Toronto with the men’s and women’s basketball teams heading to Ryerson.

The Ryerson men’s team (10-1) is ranked No. 1 in the country with Brock (9-2) sitting at No. 5. The Rams women (9-3) are ranked No. 5 while the Badgers women (7-4) have slipped out the Top 10. The women start at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m.

Brock men’s coach Charles Kissi said playing good fundamental basketball is what will help them win.

“Ryerson is a very good team, but so are we,” he said. “We will need to defend the perimeter, stop them in transition and limit the number of open three-point shots they get. We’re going to have to continue to rebound well. We are currently No. 1 in defensive rebounds in the OUA so that will be important for us.”

Two buses are now confirmed and organizer Bawe Nsame said he hopes another one or two will be needed. Tickets for the trip are available from the Walker Complex Welcome Desk for $10, which includes bus transportation and a ticket to the game.

The buses will leave from Walker Complex at 4:30 p.m.

Its a great opportunity for our fans to show why they are the greatest fans in the country both at home and on the road,” Kissi said.
