Campus Wide Co-Curriculum workshop being held

Brock University recognizes that increasing students’ engagement in their Brock experience both inside, and outside, the classroom is central to ensuring students’ success.

A workshop for faculty members is being held Wednesday, Dec. 16 to provide more information about the Campus Wide Co-Curriculum (CWC).

The ExperienceBU portal has been growing over the past two years with student participation as they use it to find campus and community events, look for volunteer opportunities and join clubs, and participate in the CWC. Students aren’t only learning when they’re in class; there is also tremendous learning that comes from extra-curricular and co-curricular activities like campus events, club involvement and volunteerism — as well as many others. The CWC is a unique guide to help students develop, enhance, and/or improve their understanding and skills in 10 different co-curricular domains:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Brock Spirit
  • Career Preparation
  • Community Engagement
  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Global Awareness
  • Health & Wellness
  • Innovation
  • Leadership & Teamwork
  • Personal Growth

Reflection is a key component of any learning experience and co-curricular experiences are no different.

“Getting involved has expanded by comfort zone, allowing me to network with amazing people, try new things, apply my classroom learning to real-life situations, make the most out of every experience, and most importantly, have confidence in myself!” says fourth-year Concurrent BA (Honours)/Bed student, Alyssa Berardocco.
