Brock seeking candidates for Vice-Provost, Enrollment Management and International

Brock University is seeking candidates from within the University for the newly established position of Vice-Provost, Enrollment Management & International. Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the Vice-Provost will be responsible for leading the further development of enrollment management, data management and international engagement.

This position includes oversight and leadership of the following units: Registrar’s Office, International Market Development, Brock International Services, ESL Services, and Institutional Analysis and Planning.

The Vice-Provost, Enrollment Management & International will be a member of the University’s Senior Administrative Council (SAC). The successful candidate may be called upon regularly by the Provost and Vice-President, Academic to represent the University both nationally and internationally through associations or committees. The Vice-Provost will also support the work of Senate and its committees in matters pertaining to this portfolio.

The appointment is for an initial term of 5 years and is renewable.

• Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, change management and organizational development
• Proven experience promoting and supporting collaboration among diverse groups, managing resources and advancing multiple initiatives
• An open and collegial management style with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A creative approach to problem solving, using sound judgment
• A strong degree of integrity/ethics
• The ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented environment
• The ability to initiate and implement change through consensus building
• Significant understanding of the trends of international programs, exchange opportunities and advancing an internationalization strategy

Context

Process
In his report to Senate (November 11, 2015) the President announced the creation of this position of Vice-Provost, Enrollment Management and International, which will be filled internally.

Senate Governance will request nominations of full–time faculty members (with at least one from each Faculty and one professional librarian) to potentially serve on the Advisory Committee, chaired by the Provost.

The Governance Committee will consider all nominations and forward the list of nominees to the Provost.

The Presidents of BUSU and GSA were asked to join the Advisory Committee.
On November 12, this call for nominations and applications was issued internally within the University.

Deadlines
Applications and nominations should be received in the Office of the Provost (nmccartney@brocku.ca) no later than November 30, 2015.

The Advisory Committee will review all statements of interest and conduct interviews as necessary. A recommendation will be made by December 31, 2015, with the appointment to commence as soon as possible thereafter.
