Brock’s United Way campaign sets $140,000 goal

Brock University’s annual United Way campaign kicked off Wednesday with the Souper Star lunch and a flag raising ceremony.

The goal of this year’s campaign is to raise $140,000 for the United Way of St. Catharines and District. Last year, Brock raised more than $137,000. The United Way funds 72 social service programs in the community.

Hichem Ben-El-Mechaiekh and Allan Castle, of the Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences, earned the Souper Bowl during the annual Souper Star lunch. The Portuguese bean and sausage soup they served garnered the most votes.
