A safety reminder about personal transportation devices

Hoverboards are a new fad in personal transportation and have been spotted in and around Brock University.

Students are reminded that hoverboards fall under the same safety rules as other personal transportation devices including skateboards, in-line skates, bikes and scooters.

Indoor use of personal transportation devices is prohibited at Brock to reduce the risk of injury and/or property damage.

Outdoor use of these transportation methods is allowed on the roads and sidewalks. Riders are reminded to be safe, courteous and respectful of pedestrians and vehicles. Any use that damages property – for example skateboarding on ledges, stairs or rails – is strictly prohibited.

Assistive devices for people with disabilities are exempt and anyone with questions can email accessibility@brocku.ca
