The Brock News launches podcast

The Brock News is now in your ear, thanks to our new podcast.

Produced by University Marketing and Communications staff, it takes Brock News content to a new audio platform to help the Brock community stay up-to-date on current developments and upcoming events.

The Brock News is one of several podcasts that showcase interesting people, research and news at the University.

Consider This, a show focusing on researchers at Brock, will launch its second season in the coming weeks. The Goodman School of Business is also poised to hit the airwaves with a show this fall.

The expanded media initiatives are possible because of a new digital media and broadcast facility funded and housed by the Goodman School of Business.

“Opening the studio will revolutionize what we can produce in terms of podcasts, or having Brock faculty do TV interviews with broadcasters who are in Toronto or anywhere else,” said Kevin Cavanagh, Brock’s Director of Communications and Media Relations.

He said as staff continues to expand their expertise with the equipment, the communications team can develop high-quality programming to take news about Brock to far greater audiences, on campus or frankly anywhere in the world.

“In the case of these podcasts by Dan Dakin and Erica Bajer, this technology not only gets campus news out to a huge audience, but it’s giving the Brock community a far greater benefit from having veteran journalists working here at Brock.”
