If you’re interested in engaging in mindfulness practice and meaningful discussion, the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation has a workshop for you.

The session will provide background on the CPI’s efforts to create a community of practice in mindfulness in higher education as a way to explore its impact, both personally and within the teaching and learning contexts in which we work.

All members of the University community are welcome to join the discussion Monday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m.-noon in TH253 e-classroom.

Tribute to Teaching
When: Thursday, Dec. 4
Time: Noon
Where: Alphie’s Trough
Info: Join us at the 10th annual Tribute to Teaching to commemorate Brock’s award-winning instructors. This celebration includes the conferral of teaching awards and public address by the 2014 Brock University Award for Distinguished Teaching recipient, Marilyn Cottrell, Department of Economics. Instructional Skills Workshop (3-day certificate program)
When: Dec. 8-Dec. 10
Time: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (each day)
Cost: $50 registration fee
Info: Open to all Brock University faculty and instructors and teaching assistants, the 30-plus year old workshop is a peer-based, experiential instructional development program. It’s one of the most successful approaches to pedagogy in post-secondary institutions. Held over three days, the ISW is designed to enhance teaching effectiveness through teaching practice and feedback in small groups and is ideal for novice and veteran instructors.

Pedagogical Walk and Talk
When: Wednesday, Dec. 17
Time: 1 p.m.-2 p.m.
Where: TH253A
Info: You are invited to join staff from CPI as they walk Brock University’s trails and talk about teaching and learning.
Perhaps you tried something new in class and want to chat with someone? Or you would like to talk more about a recent workshop you attended? Come out and join in.
*If the weather does not cooperate, participants will wander the Brock hallways.
