Police and Uniform Recruiting Fair offers opportunity for Brock students

Brock’s Career Services, in partnership with the Dean’s Office Faculty of Social Sciences, recently held the annual Police Showcase.

The ‘Police and Uniform Recruiting Fair’ in Guernsey Marketplace offered students not only the opportunity to meet face to face with a variety of police service recruiters, but also representatives from the nine emergency uniformed units in attendance.

“(I) always like this event …” one police unit said.

The units in attendance included: Halton Police, Niagara Regional Police, Toronto Fire Services, RCMP, Peel Regional Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Waterloo Regional Police and Ontario Public Service.

Recruiters provided information to students and graduates and answered questions on recruitment-related issues such as: how to apply, examination procedures, required training, salary and benefits and career opportunities within the different units, including Emergency Task Unit (SWAT), Major Crimes Unit, Canine Unit, Detective Office and Underwater Search and Recovery.
