Rodman Hall’s HOT TALKS series starts Oct. 18

HOT TALKS returns to Rodman Hall with a new season of lectures, presentations and performances celebrating contemporary Canadian Art.

The free series kicks off on Oct. 18, when Denise Markonish, curator at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) will talk about Oh, Canada, her contemporary Canadian art exhibit on view in North Adams, Mass.

Markonish put the exhibit together by visiting nearly 400 studios in almost every Canadian province and territory. Oh, Canada is a showcase of the country’s vast expanse of art, spanning all media, generations and geography. Markonish’s lecture is presented with support from Brock University’s Humanities Research Institute.

Other HOT TALKS at Rodman Hall this fall include Governor General Award-winning curator Diana Nemiroff talking about the work of Dennis Tourbin (Nov. 22) and a presentations by artists Liss Platt (Sept. 7), Simone Jones (Jan. 25), Kevin Yates (Feb. 8), Olia Mishchenko (March 22) and Mary Anne Barkhouse (June 21).
