Archivist wins award for work on 1812 website

David Sharron

David Sharron, head of Special Collections and Archives in the James A. Gibson Library, was recently named the recipient of the Archives Association of Ontario’s James J. Talman Award.

Sharron was recognized for his innovative work leading a regional digitization project of archival and heritage resources for the bicentennial celebrations for the War of 1812. They are available at 1812history.com.

The James J. Talman award is given to an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding level of imagination and innovation in contribution to the profession, his/her institution or the archival community, or has pioneered in any aspect of archival work.
